TVE is in the middle of promoting the eighth season of MasterChef Celebrity, in which a group of 16 celebrities will have to hang up their aprons and prove their worth to the jury in front of the kitchen. The new cast of celebrities is made up of Toñi Moreno, Álvaro Muñoz Escassi, Eduardo Casanova, the Morancos or Jesulín de Ubrique.

However, the new edition has not yet been released and the renewal of the culinary format for a ninth season has been leaked. According to Voz Pópuli, RTVE would have reached an agreement with the producer Shine Iberia to give continuity to MasterChef Celebrity. In addition, said contract would have seen its budget increase by almost 100,000 euros per delivery.

In recent days, TVE has been broadcasting various promotional videos for MasterChef Celebrity to warm up the engines ahead of the imminent premiere of its eighth season. In them we can see a kind of Complaints Cabinet, in which the future contestants pose different questions to the members of the jury, as if they were doing it before judges of a court. In fact, the chosen place is a viewing room.

Eduardo Casanova, Laura Londoño, Jorge Sanz, Miguel Diosdado, Toñi Moreno, Tania Llasera, Palito Dominguín, Blanca Romero, Sandra Gago, Genoveva Casanova, Daniel Illescas, Álvaro Muñoz Escassi, César and Jorge Cadaval and Jesulín de Ubrique would make up the group of celebrities for this new season.

An eighth edition that has cost 7.11 million euros. That is, 592,000 euros for each program. However, as Voz Pópuli is certain, the Corporation would not only have signed the renewal of the celebrity format for a ninth season, but would also have increased its budget to 8.3 million euros. That is, 691,666 euros per delivery and almost 100,000 euros more than for the eighth.

If we look back, RTVE’s investment in MasterChef Celebrity has continued to rise. The first two editions had a cost of 546,771 euros and 550,512 euros respectively, while in the sixth edition it increased to 593,000 euros. In the seventh, the budget dropped to 578.00 euros, but increased again for the eighth to the aforementioned 592,800 euros and, now with the ninth, they reach 691,666 euros.

The public channel’s commitment to this consolidated format, the leader in audiences in its time slot and with ten years of broadcasting, represents a safe and reliable bet to maintain a screen share above its competitors. Now we just need to know, as has happened with other editions, what conditions RTVE has imposed on the program.
