“I live to play on stage,” says Pablo López when explaining the reasons that have led him to return to live shows even though he doesn’t have any new record to present. Over time, he has realized that they are an essential part of his work and, therefore, the tour is not a distraction to continue working on his next release.

“I always tell my audience that I really take advantage of it and the energy it gives me.” Although this may seem like an act of selfishness, ticket sales and concert attendance show that it is a reciprocal need. Today at 9:00 p.m. we will be able to listen to it in a privileged environment, at the Occident Summerfest Cerdanya, a festival that from August 17 to 26 has welcomed renowned artists such as David Bisbal, Taburete or Pablo Alborán in an idyllic setting surrounded by nature.

It is not presenting anything new. The last two singles she published, Quasi (December 2022) and The Biggest Hug in the World (April 2023), have already been out for months. They are a first preview of what will be her next record work, a record that has been delayed and that she assures will surprise.

The image of the live show that he is doing takes as a reference the covers of these two songs that he has advanced, a hummingbird that he also has tattooed on his arm, but the scenery enhances the band that is on stage. If until now we had been able to see him alone or accompanied by three more musicians, he has now incorporated wind instruments and assures that “the experience is very exciting both on and off stage”.

The songs have acquired a different sound and the public response constantly reaffirms their success. On stage there are six musicians, but there are a total of 26 people in the team that is accompanying him.

The artist who became known after his time on Operación Triunfo claims not to have bored the songs of the first works he published. “I wouldn’t know which is the newest song between one written eleven years ago or one that is eleven months old.” When he talks about those early songs, he gets emotional and claims to feel totally aligned with the person he was then. He is clear about the path he has traveled when he talks about his successes and he is continually grateful because he keeps in mind the first concerts he offered: “alone, with piano and voice, and in small venues”.

He continues to be surprised every day by the experience that live shows give him and affirms that when he gets on stage he forgets everything that happens. “I have no memory of what happens on stage” and, although it may seem contradictory, he remarks that “it is a safe and hostile place that goes beyond the poetic”.

“Every concert is a host of hugs.” The artist from Malaga is a stage animal. The start of the long list of concerts that he is performing was in mid-May at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona and it will end in November of this year. The last two singles that he has published, Quasi and The biggest hug in the world, are played live, as well as great hits like Tu enemigo, Patio or Lo saben mi zapatos.
