After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic and its restrictions, haute cuisine and solidarity will return to the stage of the Gran Teatre del Liceu on September 17 with a new edition of the Gran Nit Solidària al Liceu, which on this occasion will has proposed to raise funds for the NGO World Central Kitchen and for the Gavina Foundation.

The first, led by chef José Andrés, has positioned itself as an international benchmark for donating food to those affected by wars and natural disasters; while the second works in the Raval neighborhood of Barcelona to accompany children, adolescents, young people and families in situations of inequality and social vulnerability.

In order to surpass the figure raised in the last edition, 70,000 euros, they have brought together chefs Albert Adrià, Nandu Jubany, Carles Abellan and Carles Gaig, who will cook together for more than 400 supportive and committed diners.

In addition, they will show how they prepare some of their best-known recipes live from the stage of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, including Gaig’s roasted pularda or Carles Abellán’s truffled bikini. During the night, Xavier Gramona, viticulturist and vice president of the century-old sparkling wine brand that bears his last name, who passed away this August, will also be remembered.

Unlike other years, this new edition promoted by Gramona, Enrique Tomás and Singularis has been organized solely for corporations and 40 companies will participate.
