Two forestry coordinators and ten forestry brigades from the Valencia Provincial Fire Brigade have been working since this morning to put out the fire declared yesterday afternoon in the Santa Anna neighborhood of Gandia. The Emergency teams that worked yesterday managed to stabilize it after midnight, but since this morning they have been trying to end the fire.
The notice was given yesterday after eight in the afternoon and forty minutes later the Emergency Coordination Center established Situation 1 of the Special Plan Against the Risk of Forest Fires (PEIF) of the Valencian Community.
Yesterday’s is the second fire of the summer in the town, which suffered another fire on July 13, a forest fire in the Beniopa sports center area, extinguished the following day.
