This Sunday, abundant rainfall is expected to arrive with storms on the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, especially strong in the center, southeastern third, Levante and northern plateau, as well as strong winds in the Levante and the northeast.

Due to the presence of an isolated depression at high levels (DANA) that will evolve into a storm, cloudy or overcast skies will predominate in most of the peninsula and west of the Balearic Islands, with abundant rains and widespread storms.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has raised the warning for storms and heavy rains to red for this Sunday in the central area of ??the Peninsula from 12 to 00. Thus, according to the last update of the Agency, in the South, Vegas and West zones, an accumulated precipitation of 120 liters per square meter is expected. In just one hour, up to 30 liters per square meter could fall.

There may also be precipitation, although less probable and intense, in the extreme north of the peninsula and in the Balearic Islands, although in this case locally strong showers are expected in the Pitiusas at the beginning of the day.

As a general trend, the rainfall will move throughout the day from southeast to northwest, with a probability of becoming strong and/or locally persistent in the southeast third and central peninsula, as well as other areas of the Levant, although there could also be in the northern plateau and nearby areas.

In the Canary Islands, cloudy intervals are expected with probable light rains in the north of the islands, which will tend to move in the form of occasional showers to the interior of those of greater relief.

Haze is not ruled out in the eastern half of the peninsula, Melilla and the Balearic Islands, so the rainfall could be accompanied by mud, while in mountainous areas of the peninsula morning fog banks are likely, which may be persistent in some points.

The minimum temperatures will drop in areas of eastern Andalusia, Melilla and the Canary Islands, and will rise in the far northwest and the Balearic Islands; meanwhile, the maximums will rise in the Levant and in the northern and northeastern thirds of the peninsula, an increase that will even be notable in the interior extreme north, although they will decrease in the rest.

An intense wind from the east and northeast is expected in the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, which will become strong in the Levant and on the coasts of the peninsular northwest, and with very strong gusts in the Balearic Islands and in large areas of the northeast half of the peninsula, especially in interiors of the eastern third. In the southwest quadrant, however, the wind will generally be light and from the south.

In the Canary Islands, the wind will blow from the north, generally weak.
