With the beginning of April, we give way to the rainy season that leaves an earthy aroma in the fields. We selected seven varied wines to welcome this month, with bottles that leave hints of mushrooms, sweet spices, red fruits or field herbs, among others.

It is a wine made with pinot noir, aged for 9 months in barrels and is part of the trilogy of unique vineyards of the Ferrer Family. On the nose, both the grape variety and the area are revealed, since the Mediterranean character is also appreciated. We find aromas of ripe red fruit, blackberries, plum, incense and earthy notes. In the mouth it is fresh and juicy with an elegant finish, which leaves balsamic touches.

Sparkling wine marked by its terroir of origin and that shows the personality of the variety in every sip. Its long aging gives it very particular characteristics. In this case it exceeds 60 months, which gives it great amplitude both in aromas and in the mouth. On the nose, roasted apple, hints of peach, yeast, mushrooms and sweet spices appear. Its palate is fresh, enveloping and its bubbles are fine and creamy. Long and complex finish.

Classic wine among the classics, with a profile tamed by long aging and that is faithful to the Rioja tradition in every step of its production. It is the flagship of the Winery and its grapes come from Oyón and Laguardia. Aging will be in French and American oak barrels. The wine exhibits a tertiary profile with notes of forest berries, earthy notes, mushrooms, spices and smoked notes. The balance and good acidity in the mouth are the secret of its success.

Latúe is a pioneering winery in the production of organic wines and can boast of being committed to sustainability. Intense cherry color and well covered. Aromas of ripe red fruit, spices, aromatic herbs, coffee, fine woods and moist earth emerge in its perfumed nose. In the mouth it is smooth, fruity and in the finish the notes of its 12 months in American barrels appear.

The aromas of wet stone and flint always remind us of the feeling that rain leaves. On the banks of the Miño River we find this white wine with notes of green apple, pineapple, field herbs, citrus touches and very mineral. In the mouth it is clean, sharp, fresh and with a good fruit load in its mid-palate.

Clean, mineral smell, wet stone and freshness would be a good summary of this white wine made with Verdejo grapes, which does not lose the essence of the variety. The vineyards are located in Nava del Rey and are grown organically. It is fermented in concrete and passed through a large volume barrel. It has aromas of white flowers, flint, field herbs, citrus and apple. In the mouth it has good acidity, it is enveloping and its finish is subtly saline.

Drumbeat for a white Rioja, very classic and aged with patience and wisdom. Four years of aging and beautiful evolution in the barrel have empowered this viura to delight us. Dried fruits, nuts, fungi, mushrooms, moist earth, smoked and fine woods would be part of its aromas. The immense mouth with an eternal ending. Its only drawback would be the shortage of bottles.
