The Spanish Formula One driver Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) was the object last night in Milan (northern Italy) of the theft of his watch (valued at about 150,000 euros), which he managed to recover after chasing and retaining the thieves, with the help of several members of his team and some passers-by.

Sainz, who finished third in the Italian Grand Prix held this Sunday in Monza, was at the doors of the Milanese hotel where he was staying when he was approached by three people who surrounded him and, using a misguided technique, snatched his watch. , local media reported.

The pilot, who initially thought they were three fans, began to chase them and managed to stop the thief who was wearing the watch, with the help of two citizens who were passing by at that time.

The other two were blocked a short distance away by two members of their team along with several passersby. The three thieves, of Moroccan nationality and aged between 18 and 20, were arrested by the police and taken to the police station, where Sainz filed a complaint.

The watch recovered by Sainz was a Richard Mille, Alexander Zverev model, valued at more than 300,000 euros, according to the same sources. Sainz finished third in the Italian Grand Prix, the fourteenth of the Formula One World Championship, held at the Monza circuit, where he scored his sixteenth podium in the premier category.
