The Fiorentina striker Vero Boquete was very critical of the international players of the Spanish National Team who yesterday issued a statement on the Rubiales case. The former international and former captain of the women’s team attended El Larguero, from Cadena Ser, yesterday, where she assured that the statement “”arrives late and is insufficient.”

“I am not going to thank the statement, it comes to me just as late as that of De la Fuente, Jorge Vilda or anyone who has positioned himself ten or fifteen days later when they already sense what can happen,” he said about the late reaction of his selection partners.

The Galician understands that “it is not an easy situation, but I am missing things in that statement and I have point four left over”. For her, “the last point that now a new journey begins, that they want to focus only on sports gives me the feeling that the statement is to avoid uncomfortable questions. We need those uncomfortable questions, and we need forceful answers and we need courageous answers as Borja Iglesias and some of her other colleagues once gave,” she claimed.

Even so, she did appreciate that “the intention is very good, it is to want to look good or to at least want to position yourself, which is something and it is brave,” the player concluded.
