The premiere of the eighth season of ‘Masterchef Celebrity’ has been marked by a disastrous start for the contestant Genoveva Casanova, who starred in one of the most disastrous moments of the night. The first test, titled “Assume it, you don’t know how to cook,” challenged celebrities to replicate dishes of high culinary complexity, courtesy of former winners from previous editions, Miguel Ángel Muñoz and Raquel Meroño.
Álvaro Escassi and Blanca Romero were the first to present their creations to the relentless judges, but Blanca failed to convince them, while Escassi left a positive impression. Jorge Sanz, on the other hand, became the center of attention by presenting a plate with two raw eggs, making his plate inedible.
However, the most impressive moment came when Genoveva Casanova approached the jury to present her dish. To everyone’s surprise, Genoveva placed an empty plate before the judges, confessing that she had not given them time to finish preparing it. Next, the judges ask her to show what she had prepared. The result: a very unappetizing “cloudy” broth.
The comedian Jorge Cadaval emerged as the winner of the test, donating the 4,000 euros prize to an NGO. Moved by Álvaro Escassi’s collaboration in the kitchen, he decided to share the prize with him, who in turn donated his share to ELA Andalucía.
The judges, in order to teach them a lesson, posed a demanding challenge with the intention of demonstrating the complexity of the competition. The celebrities had to replicate highly technical dishes, but only a few managed to stand out in this challenge, while others, like Genoveva Casanova and Jorge Sanz, have started the program on the wrong foot.
