Daniel Sancho remains in Koh Samui prison since he confessed to having murdered and dismembered the Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta in Thailand. Just a few days ago the police were still making reconstructions of what happened in the hotel room where the crime occurred.

Meanwhile, the accused receives a visit every day from a family member or his lawyers. Daniel’s mother, Silvia Bronchalo, and his father, Rodolfo Sancho, have already stopped by the prison to see her son and to establish the next steps to follow in the defense. For its part, the Thai police have spoken out again.

Big Joke, number two in the Thai police, and one of those in charge of the investigation, has given an interview again, this time for the program Let’s see. Among other things, he wanted to explain what they found the first time they entered the hotel where the events occurred.

“When we went to that room with him we saw that it was very clean. But I ordered the forensic inspection team to do a check and I discovered a lot of blood and blood stains all over the room and the bathroom. After examining the piece of meat , it was discovered that it was Edwin’s,” the agent said.

Big Joke, also called Surachate Hakparn, has expressed that it was at that moment that Daniel “broke down and confessed” to having committed the crime. Of course, he wanted to make it clear that Daniel could not have taken just three hours to dismember the body, as was initially said: “he did it all night.”

And one of the reasons that the police find to justify that he was able to do it in a few hours and in this way is because of the accused’s profession. “Daniel Sancho is a cook and is used to cutting corpses and bones,” he said.

Furthermore, he has once again remembered the result of the autopsy: Edwin Arrieta died when his throat was slit and not during the fight he had with Daniel Sancho. After all, Big Joke has claimed that the case “is likely to be resolved in about 14 months at most.”

Of course, with a serious face, Surachate Hakparn wanted to point out that the accused’s sentence must be served in the Asian country. “Therefore, when the court decides, Daniel will have to serve his sentence in Thailand, no matter how many years it has to be, five, ten, whatever,” she said.

Big Joke’s words have ended with a clear warning to Daniel Sancho’s defense. “I say and warn, if he goes to court and denies all charges he will face the death penalty, but if he pleads guilty the sentence will be life imprisonment,” he has assured. With this, he only has two options left for the trial.
