Rains for the rest of the week and anywhere in the country. That is the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), which warns of locally heavy rainfall in the Mediterranean area and other parts of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands in the coming days. According to the forecast, the rainiest day will be Friday.

For this Wednesday, there will be cloudy skies in the Cantabrian area, with the probability of weak rains, somewhat more intense in the eastern Cantabrian Sea. Also cloudy intervals of diurnal evolution in the rest of the northern and eastern halves of the Peninsula and in the Balearic Islands, with the possibility of some showers and storms, more probable in the northeast of Catalonia, eastern Iberia, Levante, southeastern mountains and Mallorca, where they can be locally strong.

The Aemet has activated the yellow warning for this Wednesday due to rainfall and storms in Aragon, Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, Castilla – La Mancha and Catalonia, where up to 20 mm could accumulate at once, in addition to hail.

In the rest of the Peninsula, slightly cloudy skies. In the Canary Islands, cloudy intervals with the possibility of some light showers on the mountainous islands.

Regarding temperatures, the minimum temperatures will decrease in the northeast quadrant of the peninsula. The maximums are also decreasing in the Mediterranean area. Instead, they will rise on the Atlantic slope and there will be few changes in the rest.

For the remainder of the week, the rains will be repeated in almost any part of the territory, according to the Aemet forecast. Precipitation will be locally strong in the Mediterranean area and other parts of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands.

The rainiest day will be Friday. For that day, an Atlantic low pressure system is expected to affect the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with abundant cloudiness and almost widespread rainfall, accompanied by storms.

It will rain from the early hours in the Mediterranean area, moving from southwest to northeast throughout the day, and may be abundant and locally strong, even locally persistent in Valencia, Alicante and the Catalan coast, without ruling out the Balearic Islands.

According to the Aemet forecast, rainfall will affect a large part of the rest of the Peninsula, although it will be somewhat weaker in general, but abundant in large inland areas, even locally strong and with hail in central and southern areas.
