Borrego’s departure from the contest is now overshadowed by the surprising end of the relationship between his son, José María Almoguera, and Paola Olmedo. The now ex-couple has appeared together in an interview for Semana magazine, where they have given a series of statements that indirectly affect Borrego.
Almoguera and his ex-wife, far from calming the waters, have added fuel to the fire with these new statements, since they have spoken about certain aspects of his relationship with his mother and mother-in-law that, until now, had remained secret. And they don’t leave it too well.
Borrego, known for her desire to maintain a low profile when it comes to conflicts, had opted for silence during her stay on the reality show, with the intention of not harming her loved ones. However, this silence has been interpreted differently by José María and Paola, who have not hesitated to openly express her discomfort, indirectly pointing to Borrego as part of the problem.
In fact, they have assured that the greeting he sent them just before jumping from the helicopter made them feel very bad. For José María, her mother’s gesture was more of an affront than a show of courtesy, describing it as something that “hurt” him deeply.
This pain derives not only from the act itself, but also from the context in which it occurred, aggravated by Jorge Javier Vázquez’s suggestion that Borrego not forget to greet important people in his life, including Paola.
The former daughter-in-law, for her part, has supported José María’s feelings, adding that, although the greeting may have seemed forced, the fact that it was public and at such a delicate moment for both of them, made it seem like a deliberate strategy on Borrego’s part. .
Paola has even gone further by suggesting that the collaborator “sells herself, lends herself” to this type of media dynamics, insinuating a certain premeditation behind her actions. Despite these harsh criticisms, Paola wanted to make it clear that, regardless of the incidents they have had, her relationship with Carmen Borrego has never been marked by direct confrontations and they have always had cordial treatment despite the circumstances.
