The figure of Arantxa Sánchez Vicario, one of the most successful tennis players on the Spanish scene, has been tarnished in recent months by the figure of Josep Santacana. The lawyer and the athlete sat in the dock last Tuesday, testifying in the Criminal Court No. 25 of Barcelona for an alleged crime of taking property. The former player came to the bench accusing her ex-husband, but she was not the only one.

Yolanda López, Santacana’s ex-partner before meeting Sánchez Vicario, has reviewed her entire history with the lawyer on the set of And Now Sonsoles. The former member of Parchís confessed to having been used by the lawyer, even having briefcases full of money under the seat of her car, which she later confessed were the tennis player’s and were headed to Andorra. The former classmate also classified the accused as “manipulative,” even highlighting that another ex of hers had previously warned her.

“The previous girlfriend, Núria, already told me,” he said. The interviewee highlighted that Santacana had a “little golden mouth” and that he dominated everything, highlighting his ability to deceive women and partners with whom she had worked to make a profit. “He has deceived them, he has been a scammer and no one realized anything. The world he had was so immense, and he could really believe what he was doing, and make others believe what he was doing. “We were all falling,” he noted.

In his words, Santacana led a life of luxury. “He took me to the best places and always carried a lot of cash,” said López, indicating an occasion in which he carried briefcases full of bills under the seat of his vehicle. According to the lawyer’s explanations, it was money belonging to Sánchez Vicario that he was transferring to Andorra. Some words that led Carlos Quílez to question whether she was an accessory to a crime.

The singer acknowledged that Santacana began seeing Sánchez Vicario while he was still in a romantic relationship with her. She explained that the lawyer had an interest in her, and managed to maintain the two relationships in parallel, even having a brief telephone discussion with the tennis player. He warned her about her partner and wished her luck, in a call that must have been in relation to some cell phone bills that she had not paid.

“I wanted to check while I met Arantxa if I was going to fall into her network,” Yolanda confessed, to the disbelief of Sonsoles Ónega and the rest of the program’s cast. “She has fallen, but can I still see you from time to time?” Santacana asked her, to which she immediately refused. In fact, if she found out about the double relationship in the first place, it was thanks to television, after seeing a piece about both of them in Here there is tomato.
