For Citroën, classics never die. The French brand wants to get on the trend of camper vans, a car that includes basic furniture as a house or home, approved to be used as a home during trips. This option, which allows us to travel at our own pace, continues to gain followers.

The manufacturer’s bet is the Type Holidays, an original retro camper that pays tribute to the legendary Type H of the 1940s. This model has been presented at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf 2023, the most important fair in the sector.

The Type H arose with the idea of ??developing a new utility vehicle to replace the Citroën TUB. The result was a large van, where square shapes predominated, both in the front and in the rear.

The design of the Type Holidays is not far from that initial version, at least on the outside. Citroën explains on its website that this model is based on the SpaceTourer, but that it is “perfectly adapted for daily life.” “It offers all the comforts and tricks of the best motorhomes: lifting roof, rear seat that converts into a bed, small kitchen and retractable table,” they point out.

In addition, they emphasize “its compact exterior dimensions and a height of 1.99 meters”, with which it will be possible to enter city centers, and even into city parking lots and beaches.

Many choose campers because it gives them the possibility of sleeping in them. In this case, the Type Holidays has two double beds, where up to four people could sleep comfortably.

For those interested, this original camper is not yet for sale. We will have to wait until 2024, when it can be ordered at a dealership, as confirmed on social networks by the brand’s communications manager, Chris Rux.
