One of the most smiling people left on the Montjuïc green after Sánchez Martínez’s final whistle was Joao Félix. The Portuguese inaugurated Barça’s victory over Betis with his first goal wearing the Barça shirt.

The footballer, on loan from Atlético de Madrid, translated his state of mind into words. “I’m very happy to have played as a starter because I haven’t done so in a while,” he declared on television with a first shot at Simeone.

“The sensations have been very good, the team has done everything very well. At a positional level everyone has been in their place and the structure has been very good, so the ball circulated quickly and spaces opened up. That’s where the goals appear,” he explained.

Before the farewell, Joao Félix launched his second dart, this one even more direct, at Simeone. “I am happy in Barcelona, ??the change has been good for me, my family and my friends. Clearly I am very happy here.”
