Since Netflix premiered The Burning Body last Friday, September 8, a series based on the so-called ‘Crime of the Urban Police’, the case has returned to the order of the day. Many users of the renowned streaming content platform have already seen the series, starring Úrsula Corberó, who plays Rosa Peral, and Quim Gutiérrez, who is Albert López in fiction. The one who has also seen the production has been Belén Esteban, who wanted to comment through social networks what has stood out the most in the series, from her point of view.

“I can only say that congratulations to the entire team, but especially to Úrsula Corberó, for the role you play. You are so good,” expressed Paracuellos del Jarama through a story shared on her Instagram profile, where you can see one of the promotional posters for the series in the background. As seen by its more than one million followers on the social network, the television station has enjoyed this new Netflix bet, based on real events.

Rosa Peral and Albert López, who were urban guards in Barcelona, ??were sentenced, respectively, to 25 and 20 years in prison for murdering her partner, Pedro, who was also an agent of the force. The events happened in May 2017. The love triangle ended up triggering one of the most followed crimes in the media in our country, especially in Catalonia. The crime has inspired the series, starring Úrsula Corberó and Quim Guitiérez, and also a documentary, Rosa’s Tapes, which is also being a success on the platform.

Precisely, in the last few hours it has become known that after learning of the release of this production, Rosa Peral, convicted for the death of her partner, Pedro Rodríguez, filed a financial claim for the image rights. Peral also tried unsuccessfully to have a court in Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona) paralyze the premiere of the series, which could finally be seen on the platform on September 8.

This Saturday, as reported by judicial sources, and as reported by EFE, the court accepted the request of the lawyer for the private prosecution filed by the relatives of the agent who was murdered so that the convicted persons cannot collect from the platform while they are not pay the nearly 800,000 euros in compensation set by the sentence. That is, neither López nor Peral will be able to obtain money from Netflix for their image rights in the broadcast of the series produced by the platform.
