77% of Spaniards have a positive or very positive perception of Spanish businessmen, and more than 70% of those surveyed believe that the public image of businessmen has improved. These are some of the conclusions of a GAD3 study, commissioned by the Valencian Association of Businessmen, AVE, with 3,652 surveys throughout Spain, to know the climate of opinion regarding the business sector of citizens.
The results have just been announced by Narciso Michavila, president of GAD3 and sociologist, at the event organized this morning by AVE to present the “business barometer” to its members. At the event, presented by Vicente Boluda, president of AVE, it was highlighted that entrepreneurs generate 84.6% of employment – three tenths more than last year – in Spain and contribute to 86% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). from the country.
Among the results, data stands out such as that 41% of those surveyed admire some businessman, and that among the factors that influence this good opinion are that they generate employment, promote economic growth or have a positive impact on society.
There are also negative opinions about employers, and these are mainly based “on the lack of references in the environment, the excess of benefits, the treatment of workers, the lack of commitment to social initiatives and the environmental impact of some activities.” The study offers interesting data that is rarely discussed regarding entrepreneurs. Among these, the survey reveals that “Spanish people assume more responsibilities” and that 60% of those interviewed believe that “their mental health” is more affected.
Another important fact is that more than half of those surveyed consider that women have more difficulties developing their activity as entrepreneurs than men. Something similar happens with young entrepreneurs, “54% affirm that they have more difficulties in their business activity.”
