In this series of photographs in La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos we can see how the fireworks of the Campdevànol festival rescue the silhouette of the Sant Cristòfol church from the darkness of the night.

The temple stands out in the urban center of this town in the Ripollès region. The parish church was built at the end of the 19th century, because the old one was far from the center.

The bell tower, which appears in these images illuminated by festive fireworks, was rebuilt in the mid-20th century, since the previous one collapsed.

In Campdevànol there is a part of the royal road that leads to the sources of Sant Eudald and Querol, as well as another Romanesque church, that of Sant Llorenç, from the 11th century.

An indispensable element of Campdevànol is the Old Bridge over the river. It was built in 1899 and served to unite the town and the Raval neighborhood. In 1912 and further south, the Pont Nou was built, a communication route between the counties of Ripollès and Berguedà.
