The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, insisted this Thursday that the reform of the Trans Autonomous Law is “important” for her Government and the spokesperson for Vox in the Chamber, Rocío Monasterio, has urged her to repeal it.
This was stated by the president in the control session in the regional parliament in response to a question from Monasterio in which she asked about the laws that include “reversal of the burden of proof”, pointing to the norms regarding sexist violence and LGTBI laws.
“I neither lie nor change my mind, something that does not happen in national politics,” Ayuso launched after Vox accused the PP of having been part of the approval of these laws.
The president has reiterated that now that they have a “consolidated majority” in the Assembly, the absolute one, reforms can be made “always taking into account legal rigor.”
“This week, feminist associations have asked for health reforms against these laws (the state Trans Law) that go against the decisions of specialists,” added the president, who has also pointed to claims from more than 500 platforms throughout the globe.
Monasterio, for his part, has reproached the PP for “not doing anything to change it” when he could and has insisted that “no one can block the regional Executive” because it has an absolute majority. That is why he has once again demanded that he repeal these laws and “defend the presumption of innocence.”
In another key, Ayuso has taken advantage of his intervention to disgrace Vox for talking about a “parliamentary roller” when the PP was the one who decided that the Monasterio formation had a seat at the Assembly Table when it could have gone to Más Madrid.
“What we wanted was for him not to be left out of the Table, which now represents all the parties so that they have a voice,” added the president, who has advanced that this decision was a “gesture” of how she wants “the things”. She has also asked Monasterio to leave out the “causes and nuances” to focus on working when the “national situation demands it.”
