The National Police has so far identified 10 minors as alleged authors of the dissemination of false nude images, made through an artificial intelligence application of at least 22 girls, all of them minors, in the Badajoz town of Almendralejo.

Finally, he highlights that the police report is still open, which is why he points out that no data that could interfere with the investigation will be provided, and it is expected that “as soon as possible” it will be finalized and sent to the competent authority. in this case the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, which “has been reporting on the evolution of the investigation during the development of the proceedings,” he concludes.
In this case, everything indicates that both the creators and distributors of the images would be minors. In the case of minors who are 14 years of age or older, they are liable and can be tried with the penal code and the law on criminal responsibility of minors. If they are between 16 and 18 years old, they will have a higher sentence than those who are in the 14 to 16 range due to greater development and awareness of the acts committed. In any case, the objective of justice is to reeducate and put punitivism aside.
On the other hand, if any of those involved, as is the case, is under 14 years of age, they cannot be held accountable and, therefore, cannot be tried. At the same time, article 17 bis of the child protection law tells us that “a monitoring plan will be carried out that assesses their socio-family situation, designed and carried out by social services.” As well as, “a training mode in gender equality.”
