Like every night, new diners go to the most romantic program on television to try to find a person to connect with. But First Dates is a totally unpredictable program in which anything can happen. One of the most common are disappointments between single men and women. And having dinner with someone who has little to do with you can become a very annoying situation.

But to the joy of many, other times love knocks on the door of singles and a short evening can be the beginning of a beautiful love story. That’s what happened to Rafael and Silvia. The 38-year-old bachelor was an industrial mechanic and claimed to “carry gasoline inside.” He hadn’t had much luck in love, so he went to the program to try to find a woman who was interested in making him happy.

His date was going to be Silvia, a 38-year-old single woman, who assured that “you had to have dreams in life.” ”I am fragile, romantic,” she confessed. ”I’ve seen him well taken care of physically,” she declared when seeing her date for the first time. The evening began with the two singles realizing that there were some bumps in the road to a future relationship. And even though Rafael is Andalusian, he had been living outside the community for several months. But Silvia was about to move to Malaga or Seville.

”I get up from Andalusia here to the north and you get off from the north to Andalusia,” said the bachelor. The date progressed and the comfort between them was increasingly palpable, so much so that the single woman asked her if she planned to live in the north for a long time. Rafael responded that her goal was to live a few years to save money.

Regarding having children, the bachelor claimed that he had always had the idea, but as the years went by he worried less and less about it. Silvia, for her part, told him that she had a 19-year-old daughter. Something that didn’t seem to matter to the bachelor.

Bad luck in relationships was something they also had in common. ”They introduced me to a polyamorous relationship, I found out after starting the relationship, it was not sincere,” he said. But despite the bad moment, the bachelor moved forward and was willing to reopen a new chapter in his life.

In the final stretch of the date, both faced the typical questions of the program. When Rafael asked her if she had ever been caught having sex, the single woman backed off and she refused to answer. ”That’s on the first date…I’m very old,” she said. ”We’re both old-fashioned,” the bachelor responded. After the awkward moment, Rafael invited Silvia to dinner. ”I think it’s a gentlemanly detail,” she asserted. In the final decision, there were no surprises and both were willing to go on a second date.
