Little by little, changes in mobility are being introduced in the city of Valencia. The plenary session of the City Council approved this Tuesday “reversing and nullifying” the schedule changes introduced by the previous PSPV and Compromís Government team to expand the payment slots for vehicle parking in the regulated parking areas of the city of Valencia, ORA.

The PP government team has voted in favor of this motion, raised by the municipal group Vox, but which was already announced that it would be carried out by the current mayor of València, María José Catalá, shortly after assuming the city’s leadership. .

In this way, the ORA will recover the previous time slot subject to payment, that is, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

As explained by the council, the point has begun with the intervention of the representation of the La Roqueta Neighborhood Association, which has been in favor of maintaining the imposed measures and has warned against the effect that it will have on the neighborhoods. For its part, Vox has defended that this proposal is positive for citizens and that they support this proposal as they already expressed at the polls.

From the PSPV, its councilor María Pérez has said this is a way to learn about the city model of the new government team and has asked about the reports that support it and the cost for the municipal coffers. Meanwhile, the person responsible for Mobility of the previous Local Executive, Guiseppe Grezzi (Compromís), has regretted that they want to return to the Valencia of the 60s and in black and white and has defended that the service should be maintained because from 14 to 16 hours and from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. people also go to hospitals or administrative areas, which is the blue zone service.

The councilor for mobility, Jesús Carbonell, recalled that this proposal is a measure included in the PP’s electoral program because “we understand that the spirit of the ORA is rotation and the previous schedules favored, for example, that the neighbor who returns to your home to eat can find free parking during these hours, so the current schedule has a fundraising effort.”
