Is there a way to escape group bias and express our opinion without fear? This is the question raised by business school professor Pablo Foncillas, who warns that this trend “can ruin decision-making and hinder innovation” within an organization, since it causes, while everyone is nodding and applauding, “the true wisdom and diversity of thought” remain in the shadows.

But fortunately group bias has a solution. The way to neutralize it is to “foster an environment where dissenting opinions are welcome,” as well as keeping in mind that data and objective analysis “are the best allies in decision-making.”

And when each individual understands that they are part of the meeting to give their own point of view, “the true magic of collaboration is born,” explains the innovation disseminator.
