Isabel Díaz Ayuso’s economic team is designing a package of fiscal measures for this legislature that seeks to fight depopulation and will generate savings for taxpayers of 9 million euros the first year it comes into effect, reports Telemadrid.

Minister Rocío Albert, Minister of Economy, Finance and Employment, offered these estimates in an informative meeting that she held to publicize the strategic lines of her department for the next four years.

“This is a fiscal aid package that will complete the territorial rebalancing plan to avoid depopulation in the 73 municipalities with less than 2,500 inhabitants,” Albert stressed.

The aid will go to people who already reside in the Community of Madrid and choose to move their habitual residence to a rural municipality in the region. Above all, for young people under 35 years old who are going to live in a small town, whether in a home purchased or rented.

Those citizens who buy or rehabilitate a home in said municipalities and use it as their habitual residence will also be eligible for other tax aid.

The first tax aid, for moving to a municipality with less than 2,500 inhabitants, will be articulated through a reduction in the personal income tax and it is estimated that it can reach 1,000 euros. At the same time, another tax deduction for the purchase or rehabilitation of a home is being designed, the amount of which could amount to around 1,500 euros.

In addition, a third bonus will be created for the acquisition of housing in municipalities at risk of depopulation, both for second-hand and new homes. It would be a tax reduction in the property transfer tax or in the documented legal acts tax, depending on the type of home.

The three aids are cumulative, according to ministry sources, so taxpayers will be able to benefit from all three if they meet the requirements.
