The former president of the Community of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre, has advocated this Friday for an abstention of the PP before an investiture of the leader of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, as long as the socialists do not govern with “communists, independentists and philterrorists”, a possibility which has already been discarded since ‘Génova’.
“If I were Feijóo, I would offer the necessary PP votes to Pedro Sánchez as long as he does not govern with communists, independentists, or philterrorists,” he stated during an intervention on Telecinco, reported by Europa Press.
However, this scenario has already been ruled out within the popular bench. According to sources from the PP leadership, they do not contemplate the possibility of abstaining because Alberto Núñez Feijóo has already put on the table an offer for there to be “a Government without independentists.”
Popular sources insist that if Sánchez “wants a Government without independentists, instead of asking for support from the PP, he should give it to Feijóo, who is the one who won the elections.”
But the abstention of the ‘popular’ is not the only possibility that the former president has advocated, Aguirre also indicated that she would “like” that within the socialist bench “someone had a conscience” during the vote for a hypothetical investiture of the socialist leader , although he says he has “little hope” that that will happen.
She has also been asked about the proposal presented by ERC and Junts in the Catalan Parliament that seeks to guarantee that the Catalan parties do not support an investiture of Sánchez if there is no commitment to hold a referendum.
Aguirre considers “that they are going to swallow” and believes that Sánchez “has already swallowed for the amnesty and is going to promise the referendum” but that he is not going to do it before his inauguration.
