The audience, standing. Ode to the female Barça.

Fifteen Barça players, a very high percentage of the squad, had appeared this summer at the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, and Barça did not want to ignore it: the fifteen appeared on the scene on the pitch of the Estadi Olímpic to receive the cheers of the sportsfans.

The seven world champions have done it with the Spanish team (Irene Paredes, Salma Paralluelo, Mariona Caldentey, Alexia Putellas, Cata Coll, Aitana Bonmatí and Ona Batlle), and also the two British runners-up (Lucy Bronze and Keira Walsh), and the Swedish Fridolina Rolfö, bronze, and the rest of Barça’s World Cup winners: Asisat Oshoala, Caroline Graham Hansen, Ingrid Engen, Esmee Brugts and Giulia Dragoni.

Aitana Bonmatí, World Cup MVP and best European player, according to UEFA, has received special recognition.

“I have been a culé since I was very young and it is a pleasure that the fans pay tribute to you. We always say that beyond playing football well we have a responsibility. We want a more egalitarian society, I feel proud to be part of this generation. We fight to that those who come in the future have more possibilities,” he said.

Earlier, in the afternoon, Joan Laporta had visited the players, had spoken to them about the improvement of their sports facilities and had confirmed that their budget will grow next season, and that he is already making efforts to ensure the renovations that are approaching in the horizon.
