Luis Martínez Almeida and Teresa Urquijo are already husband and wife. This Saturday, April 6, 2024, the couple said ‘I do’ after eleven months of relationship. The ceremony took place at 12:00 noon, and was carried out in the Parish of the Sacred Heart and San Francisco de Borja, also called the Jesuits of Serrano church. There, the couple looked spectacular and radiant while surrounded by all their loved ones and exceptional guests.

The wedding was attended by more than 500 high-level guests, and the banquet cost around 90,000 euros, as revealed last week. On the other hand, the banquet will take place in Colmenar Viejo, on her family farm. At the ceremony, the couple’s loved ones could be seen, including several well-known faces from both politics and the Spanish aristocracy. Even royalty too.

This Saturday the couple puts the finishing touch to a relationship that began less than a year ago. It was in early 2023 when the couple met for the first time. It happened during the FLECHA contemporary art fair, as reported by the Look portal. Then, Teresa approached Almeida. After several meetings at different events, she was encouraged to ask him for a first date, which finally took place on May 12. Then, there was a political campaign, so the mayor wanted to wait until it was over to make the relationship public.

Finally, it was in June 2023 when José Luis Martínez-Almeida officially presented Teresa Urquijo as his partner, and he did so by going accompanied by her to Las Ventas, in the event that puts an end to the San Isidro festivities. From then on, their relationship grew by leaps and bounds, until they became engaged and married, a marriage that finally arrived this Saturday.

“Once they asked me about sentimental questions. I answered that neither rush nor resign, it is obvious that I have not rushed, but I was almost resigned. Until she appeared. And Teresa told me yes,” the mayor wrote on his Instagram profile last January, revealing their engagement. Now ‘yes, I want’ is a reality and they couldn’t be happier.
