The municipal registry of València certifies a total population of 830,606 inhabitants in the city as of January 1, 2024, 22,913 more people than a year ago. The figure exceeds by 4,868 inhabitants what has been reported by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) and which stands at 825,738 registered people.

The difference between the two figures, that of the municipal register and that of the INE, forces the administrations to open a period of allegations to compare the data and approve the definitive figure for the city’s population, according to the City Council.

With the official data from the municipal register, the City Council will approve a resolution in the coming weeks to validate the population figures obtained by its own mechanisms.

Of the total of 830,606 inhabitants registered in the city of Valencia, 676,876 are Spanish inhabitants and the rest, 153,730, are foreigners.

In 2022, Valencia had 807,693 inhabitants, so the oblation has grown by 22,913 people in one year. The growth is slightly lower if we look at the INE figures, which speak of an increase of 18,045 inhabitants.
