The new edition of Big Brother VIP continues to make people talk. A few weeks ago, Telecinco premiered its most emblematic reality show, after years away from the network’s programming. It did so with big changes, but maintaining the essence that so characterizes the most famous house on television.

But although the Mediaset program is still trying to establish itself as one of the most watched spaces on Thursday, despite the great competition that night, the truth is that on social networks it is one of the most talked about issues day after day, due to the continuous controversies that are surrounding the format.

This past Thursday, Sol Macaluso became the second person permanently expelled from the contest. But the journalist’s goodbye from the Guadalix de la Sierra house was not the most talked about thing of the night. An unfortunate comment by one of the contestants unleashed a huge media stir, which even Spanish political figures wanted to respond to.

Marta Castro is being one of the most controversial contestants of the edition, and this past Thursday we were able to see how the influencer uttered the following words referring to the province of Asturias: ”It smells terrible and that’s why there are so many flies. It smells like Asturias, like cows.” Thousands of users immediately echoed her words, causing a stir among viewers.

The controversy was so great that even the president of Asturias himself, Adrián Barbón, decided to go out in public to respond to the contestant. ”I don’t know who this lady is and I don’t care in the slightest, but she would really like to know what Asturias smells like, enjoy our natural spaces or smell the grass when harvest season arrives. Anyway, ” she declared through her social networks.

During the program, the presenter herself, Marta Flich wanted to apologize to the president. ”We know that you didn’t really like a comment from your countrywoman Marta, who said that Guadalix smelled like a cow like her land, Asturias. She is from there, her grandparents. We don’t think she said it with bad intentions, but oh well. I have to tell you that it is a pride for us to work in the heart of the Madrid mountains. Long live the cows, long live Asturias and long live everything,” declared the presenter.
