Millions attend Pride parades in big cities and smaller towns to celebrate the LGBTQ+ scene, but these fun, underrated parades are worth it.
Also known as pride marches, pride events, and pride festivals, Pride parades are where people of various orientations and genders come together to celebrate who they are. Since June 1970, LGBTQ+ people have continued to gather together in June to march with pride about who they are.
These events are in solidarity with and support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, and queer (LGBTQ) acceptance, achievements, legal rights, and, of course, pride. The movement has gathered momentum over the years to the extent that Virgin Atlantic launched a ‘Pride Flight’, entirely staffed by LGBTQ+ crew in 2018.
Pride parades today are vibrant affairs with floats and celebrities, joyous festivals, and workshops. Every year since 1970, many colorful places across America celebrate the event with fun, flamboyant, wild, and boisterous festivities.

The 52nd annual Twin Cities Pride Festival will be held at Loring Park and Parade Park in Minneapolis. It is Minnesota’s second-largest festival and the largest FREE Pride festival. However, Grandstand passes are available for a more personal experience. With over 650 vendors, including LGBTQIA+ & BIPOC community resources, the event features several stages and performances, including some big-name acts.
