Eminem Returns with New Single “Houdini”
Eminem has made a dramatic comeback with his latest single, “Houdini,” which is the lead track from his upcoming album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). The music video for the single showcases a unique concept where Eminem from the past, circa 2002, steps into the present through a portal. The video features a recreation of his iconic “Without Me” visuals, with present-day Eminem on a mission to find his former self. The two versions of Eminem encounter various familiar faces like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Shane Gillis, Paul Rosenberg, and more, leading to a rooftop showdown and eventual fusion into a “monster.”
This new single was teased in a fun Instagram clip featuring magician David Blaine, where Eminem jokingly vows to make Blaine’s career disappear with his “last trick.” The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) is set to release later this summer, marking Eminem’s 12th studio album and the follow-up to 2020’s Music to Be Murdered By. In a unique promotional stunt, Eminem placed a fake obituary for his alter ego, Slim Shady, in the Detroit Free Press.
Fans can catch Eminem live at the Formula 1 Pirelli United States Grand Prix in October. This highly anticipated performance comes amidst the buzz surrounding his new album and the intriguing visuals for “Houdini.” Stay tuned for more updates on Eminem’s musical journey and be sure to watch the captivating video for “Houdini” to witness his return from the past.
