Journalist and television presenter Ana Rosa Quintana is having a hard time adjusting to the afternoons. After holding the title of the ‘queen of the mornings’ and taking over the leadership for 19 years thanks to Ana Rosa’s program on Telecinco, the communicator is experiencing a new stage in which she is not obtaining the expected results.
After the cancellation of Sálvame, a space dedicated to the gossip press presented by Jorge Javier Vázquez, the new management of Mediaset España revealed that they had trusted Quintana to lead a new ”family” project with which to set the pace and be leaders in that time slot. This is how TardeAR was born on September 19.
In an interview before the television season began, Quintana declared that, for her, any figure below 14% would be a ”failure”, something that viewers remember every day when they see how it is surpassed by Sonsoles Ónega and her program. Y Ahora, Sonsoles, as well as the TVE series La Promesa.
Taking into account that the magazine does not reach double digits most days and that the leaders destroyed the Cuentos Chinos program in a matter of weeks due to poor results, the situation is tense.
To lead its channel without problems and attract the viewer, Antena 3 has decided to maintain the broadcast of the Ónega program without advertising blocks, something that has sowed controversy among colleagues in the sector.
During yesterday’s program, Ana Rosa Quintana gave way to advertising while she attacked Sonsoles and sought support from Federico Jiménez Losantos, guest of the day: “Thank God we have advertising. It’s true that you compete worse because others don’t have them, but Those of us who have it are very happy that our company is prospering and paying our salaries.”
The words of the veteran presenter have given a lot of talk on the Internet and hundreds of users have blamed her for “chopping up” a program in the mornings to be able to show off her leadership.
”You can’t hide the anger you have inside, loser”, ”Dedicate yourself to making television truthfully and stop criticizing and blaming others for their audience data”, ”PublicidAR” or ”There is “You have to know how to lose and it’s clear that you don’t know or rather you don’t accept it” are some of the comments that can be read on platforms like X, formerly known as Twitter.
