In a world where innovation and disruption are increasingly valued, the TEDx event stands as a beacon of bold ideas and transformative visions. On May 8, an event aimed at young university students, companies and startups will arrive in Mataró with the ambition of learning about the challenges and changes that this new era that we are living in brings and forging a brighter future with a positive impact. This event will be held at the TecnoCampus in Mataró, which makes it possible to disseminate knowledge outside the classrooms.
Under the motto “Witness the new era”, the event organized by TEDxUPFMataró is presented as a day full of inspiration and intellectual provocation. The day will bring together a diverse range of speakers, from business leaders such as Daniela Goicoechea, former CMO of Goiko and founder of Brandcrops; Berta Segura, trend analyst, planner and expert in innovation and future processes; o Martin Vigo, computer security researcher and disseminator; even social entrepreneurs like Sergio Codonyer, from Organic Africa Chocolate; and Borja Vilaseca, educational activist.
The event seeks to stimulate critical thinking and promote innovation in all its forms, with references such as Carme Ruscalleda, the first Spanish chef to achieve three Michelin stars. In addition, Jaume Sanpera, CEO of the company Sateliot, a startup that seeks to provide greater 5G coverage through a constellation of nanosatellites, will also participate; and Adrià and Aleix Boisset, founders of B3tter Foods. The event features actor Pepo Flores, from the Barcelona company Impro Show.
The central theme focuses on young talent eager to create their mark in the world and provoke significant changes in their communities and beyond. “This event will provide a vital space to explore new ideas, question established norms and embrace creativity as a driver of change,” says Martina Díaz-Vélez, director of TEDx.
“For companies and startups, TEDxUPFMataró offers a networking space to share experiences and exchange strategies on how to challenge the status quo in the business world. From innovative business models to disruptive leadership practices, participants will have the opportunity “to learn from those who have challenged conventions and achieved notable success with positive impact,” explains Ares Sebastia, head of communications at TEDx.
In total 9 presentations will be held, where TEDxUPFMataró aims to inspire, raise awareness and promote thinking outside the box, exploring new ideas and transforming the world. This year, the team is made up of fifteen young university students from TecnoCampus – Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where all of them participate voluntarily, through a non-profit student association. “As an organizer, I have witnessed the effort and dedication that goes into carrying out an event of the magnitude of TEDxUPFMataró. Thanks to the commitment and work of the entire team behind it, the aim is to inspire the community to develop critical and transformative thinking,” adds Irati Oliva, co-director of TEDxUPFMataró.
“We believe that challenging the status quo is essential to driving progress in all areas of life, and we are excited to see how this event will inspire the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs,” explains Martina Díaz-Vélez.
TecnoCampus de Mataró aims to transform the entrepreneurial spirit among its students and anyone interested. “Choosing to hold this event in the TecnoCampus auditorium not only provides us with a modern and well-equipped environment, but also allows us to establish close relationships with the university students, the companies in the business park, and the residents of Maresme. With the participation of more than 350 people, our goal is to create networking spaces where friendships and long-term professional relationships can emerge,” says Ares Sebastia.
