The Pinyana canal already has 1,300 hectares with modernized irrigation in the municipality of Lleida.
These are about 430 plots where irrigation was previously carried out by blanket and is now carried out through a pressurized and digital irrigation system that allows water savings of an estimated 30-40%. The modernization works were inaugurated this Wednesday with the presence of the Climate Action Minister, David Mascort, who highlighted the commitment of the irrigators in the area when assuming 40% of the cost of the works, valued at 9.8 million euros.
In this sense, Mascort also expects financial support from the irrigators of the Urgell canal to begin modernization works.
