Playboy cut business ties with porn star Mia Khalifa after she strongly expressed her support for the terrorist group Hamas.
The adult magazine announced its decision to part ways with Khalifa, who joined its Centerfold platform in February 2022, in an email to subscribers on Monday evening.
“We are writing to you today to inform you of our decision to end Playboy’s relationship with Mia Khalifa, including the removal of Mia’s Playboy channel on our creator platform,” Team Playboy wrote.
“Mia has made disgusting and reprehensible comments celebrating Hamas’ attacks on Israel and the murder of innocent men, women and children,” the email continued.
“At Playboy we encourage free expression and constructive political debate, but we have a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech,” he adds.
“We hope Mia understands that her words have actions and consequences,” closes the famous adult publication.
Users trying to access Khalifa’s page on the Centerfold platform will be faced with a graphic that says “Not Found.”
Mia Khalifa, who is also an OnlyFans star, angered the magazine after posting a series of controversial messages praising Hamas over the weekend.
“If you can look at the situation in Palestine and not be on the side of the Palestinians, then you are on the wrong side of apartheid, and history will prove that in time,” Khalifa wrote in X on Saturday.
In another post on the same platform, Khalifa called a photo of Hamas terrorists a “renaissance painting.”
But the tweet that generated the most outrage was the one in which the porn star says: “Can someone tell the freedom fighters in Palestine to film horizontally?”
Khalifa, who is originally from Lebanon but lives in the US, also criticized model Kylie Jenner for posting a message on her Instagram account, which she later deleted, in support of Israel.
Despite strong criticism, the 30-year-old woman continued to post in support of Hamas terrorists on her X account, where more than 5 million users follow her.
Khalifa, who was banned from entering her home country, had a meteoric, if not exactly profitable, run in the adult industry in 2014.
When she joined Centerfold in February 2022, Playboy highlighted Khalifa’s outspokenness as an advantage.
“Mia’s fearless, direct, challenging and fun approach to life and her career makes her an important addition to our Centerfold community,” PLBY Group CEO Ben Kohn said at the time.
“Freedom of expression is a cornerstone of our Playboy legacy, and our centerfold aims to empower creators like Mia to express themselves in a safe and tolerant environment.”
