Relief for users’ pockets. After a summer of rising prices, in the last week, the price of gasoline and diesel has fallen by 1.82% and 0.29%, respectively, recovering the levels of the first week of August or the second of July, according to data from the European Union Oil Bulletin published this Thursday.

The document, which collects data from more than 11,400 service stations in Spain, indicates that in the week between October 3 and 9, the average price of gasoline was 1.719 euros per liter, while that of diesel was of 1,682 euros.

Since the beginning of the year, when the Government discount was no longer applied, the price of gasoline has increased by 6.3%, although it set an annual minimum, in May, of 1,576 euros. As for diesel, it now equals the price of the first week of January. Thus, filling an average 55-liter tank now costs 94.5 euros in the case of gasoline and 92.5 in the case of diesel.

The situation is uncertain. The war in Ukraine had an immediate effect on oil and fuel prices. However, specialists explain that it is still early to evaluate the impact that the terrorist attack perpetrated by Hamas in Israel last weekend will have and this country’s response, which could lead to a large-scale conflict.
