The actions, which have a total budget of 3.8 million euros, are part of the Pla Endreça and respond to the desire to renew the green spaces in different neighborhoods so that they have better living areas and more vegetation.
By districts, the spaces in which action will be taken are the following:
The Eixample
Following the commitment of the municipal government to revitalize the interiors of the Eixample block and to promote the recovery of new green spaces for living in these places, two gardens will be adapted.
The gardens of Elena Maseras: the vegetation is renewed, an automatic irrigation network is installed and elements of the furniture, pavements and drainage are improved. The works cost 120,000 euros and are expected to last two months.
The gardens of Cèsar Martinell: at the end of November the vegetation of these gardens will begin to be renewed with new trees and bush plants and an irrigation network will be installed for good maintenance. Visibility and security of the space will also be improved. This renovation has been highly demanded by the neighborhood and the school community. The intervention has a budget of 388,157 euros.
Sants-Montjuïc
Improvement and adaptation works will be carried out in the southern area of ??the Espanya Industrial park, right on the border of the Sants and Hostafrancs neighborhoods, to reconfigure the different spaces of the park so that each one is used in an appropriate way (stay, circulation , pedestrians, activities, etc.). Furniture elements appropriate to each space and the type of user will be installed and Mediterranean-type shrub species will be incorporated. The works will last seven months and have a budget of 969,979 euros.
At the Can Mestres farm, more trees will be planted, irrigation will be installed, water connections will be improved and the water troughs in the outdoor area will be changed.
Sarrià-Sant Gervasi
The Mercè Rodoreda gardens will have renovated furniture elements (railings, litter bins, benches, signage and lighting), a new children’s play area and a new dog play area. The works will last five months and have a budget of 709,089 euros.
Saint Andrew
In the Can Fabra gardens, the children’s play area will be renovated and different actions will be carried out in the green, such as improving the flower beds with grass and bush plants. In addition, nine olive trees will be transplanted, six poplar trees will be removed and the pine trees will be pruned. The actions will begin in mid-October and will last four months and have a budget of 529,133 euros.
Saint Martin
In the Clot park, the irrigation installation is renewed and the pavement, litter bins and signage are improved. The budget is 328,665 euros for works that have already started and will be finished in December.
In the gardens of Can Miralletes, in an action highly demanded by the neighborhood, the benches are changed, sloping surfaces and flower beds are improved, part of the irrigation network is changed, work is being done to improve the scuppers and part of the vegetation and the play elements of the area for boys and girls under five years old are changed. The budget is 484,031 euros.
At the Can Cadena farm, the public toilets on the premises will be improved. The joint cost of the actions in this space and at the Can Mestres farm is 310,402 euros.
