Carmen Borrego reappeared publicly last Thursday after having to leave Survivors due to mental health problems. However, her return to Mediaset was marked by the controversial statements of her son, José María Almoguera, and her daughter-in-law, Paola Olmedo. Devastating words that the former contestant did not expect at all and that have unleashed an unprecedented family battle.

This past Sunday, April 7, Terelu Campos’ sister visited the set of Conexión Honduras to talk about her time in the contest and her current relationship with her son. Carmen Borrego confessed that since her return to Madrid there had been no communication between mother and son. ”I have not called my son because he was absolutely sure that he was not going to pick up the phone,” she declared last night.

But despite her attempts to keep distance from her descendant, the collaborator has had to face her son sooner than expected. And José María Almoguera works every day on the program Así es la vida, a television space where Carmen Borrego also collaborates. After returning from Honduras, Alejandra Rubio’s aunt returned to resume her duties as a collaborator of the program presented by Sandra Barneda and Cesar Muñoz this same Monday, April 9. A sudden return to work that has led to an awkward moment between mother and son.

”Knowing that your son is a few meters away and not seeing him, for me it is not pleasant. But things have to cool down, I have no problem looking at his face or greeting him,’ he began by saying. Even so, the collaborator assured that she did not want to force any reunion so as not to put him in a complicated situation.

”Before leaving I perceived a good family situation, with great communication. In the last few hours I have considered the reason for the exclusive. I have a slight idea, but I don’t want to make it public (…) Even if someone is in pain, she doesn’t stop being a mother from one day to the next, she doesn’t stop being a mother, nor does she stop loving her, and that’s how I feel. “I’m not going to speak ill of my son or his wife,” he said.

However, Carmen Borrego confessed that José María “didn’t love her well.” ”Not because of this cover, it comes from months ago when we had problems. “I stayed out of it and they can’t blame me for talking about them on any set,” she said.

Regarding the relationship she had with her son and daughter-in-law, the collaborator confessed that everything was normal between them. ”Before my mother’s death I had a relationship with my son,” she asserted. Likewise, Carmen Borrego declared that she had always been very careful with the press to preserve the privacy of the marriage. Even so, the former contestant confessed to having had several rude actions from her son. ”When my grandson is born I am not notified, I find out on television. Furthermore, they send me a message and tell me that they are in another hospital,’ she expressed.

Moments later, Sandra Barneda asked Carmen Borrego about the trigger for this exclusive. ”When I left, that marriage was united and I have never seen my son say anything bad about his wife,” she said. Regarding those who accuse her of being to blame for the breakup, Terelu Campos’ sister insisted that she “had not been a perfect mother,” but “a protective mother of both.” ”I still feel like mother to my son and mother-in-law to Paola and I’m going to limit myself to waiting,” she reported.
