The parents of Álvaro Prieto, the young man from Córdoba who died last Thursday after being electrocuted by a catenary at the Santa Justa station in Seville, have thanked the National Police for “their professionalism and human quality” in the search work and have asked for “privacy” to watch over his son.

In a statement, Fathers Rafael and Julio have extended their gratitude “to the Government of the Junta de Andalucía for its concerns and efforts”, as well as to all the authorities and people who have made it possible “for all means and available resources” to find your child.

In addition, they also want to recognize the work of the Local Police of Córdoba and Seville, and the Military Emergency Unit (UME) and show their “deep gratitude for your support and support in these very complicated days.” “We do not forget the Córdoba City Council, the University of Córdoba and the Córdoba Football Club, the team to which our son belonged and that has helped us so much with the dissemination since his disappearance,” the letter adds.

Likewise, the parents wanted to thank “from the bottom of their hearts the countless expressions of support and affection” that the family has received “from people from all walks of life” since they have felt all the support “in these very complicated days.”

On the other hand, the family has indicated that they will not make “any public statement about the circumstances of the death” of their son and have “strongly” asked for “maximum respect and the greatest possible discretion” to be able to “live through mourning.”

“We express our deep desire to watch over and say goodbye to our son in the strictest privacy. Therefore, we ask that you respect the very difficult moments that we are going to have to face in the coming days before saying goodbye to Álvaro forever,” adds the letter addressed to the media who also thank them for the “dissemination work during these days.”
