A few years ago it was very common to hear in Spanish homes the saying: “Well, if you don’t want to study, you should do vocational training.” This stigma, which is still very present today, is luckily disappearing little by little. So much so, that currently one in three Spanish students already chooses to do vocational training after finishing Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO). In fact, in the last five years vocational training students have grown by 32.6%, according to the Ministry of Education.
And the fact is that FP is no longer the “plan B” of the educational system. On the contrary, Vocational Training is synonymous with success and the future and the data supports this statement.
According to the Occupations Observatory of the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), the job insertion rate of those who opt for a Medium or Higher Degree training cycle is 42.2%, almost four points higher of the job placement rate of those with university studies, which is 38.5%.
Likewise, as if that were not enough, the report of the Observatory on Vocational Training prepared by CaixaBank Dualiza, indicates that during the next decade some 4 million jobs will be created for vocational training graduates.
Thus, it is clear that Vocational Training is a winning option. However, it needs another determining factor to guarantee success: the quality of the training provided. And this is where ILERNA appears, a reference center for VET at the state level and leader in distance training in Spain, which has been committed to educational excellence for more than 50 years and with more than 150,000 graduates behind it.
ILERNA has in its catalog more than 30 official training cycles, both Intermediate and Higher Level, from various professional families: Health, Sociocultural and Community Services, IT and Communications, Image and Sound, Commerce and Marketing, Administration and Management , Hospitality and Tourism, Physical and Sports Activities, Safety and Environment and Personal Image.
In this sense, in order to bring access to Vocational Training closer, ILERNA offers the possibility of choosing between three different study modalities: online, in-person and blended.
The online modality is ideal for all those who work and/or have family responsibilities. It allows you to enroll in individual subjects, so each student can self-manage their time and obtain their official vocational training degree at their own pace and without rushing.
Does studying through a screen make learning difficult? Absolutely not. The teachers reduce the distance to zero. Be that as it may, it is a perfect option for all those who want to change their job sector or want to improve their professional career.
For its part, the face-to-face modality is taught in the eleven centers that ILERNA has spread throughout Spain in a total of eight cities: Lleida, Barcelona, ??Madrid, Seville, Cádiz, Tarragona, Córdoba and Valladolid. Some aspects are worth highlighting here. The main one is that all centers have spaces in their classrooms that simulate real work environments in which students can reinforce the theoretical knowledge acquired using professional material. This gives them enough experience to enter the labor market 100% prepared.
Another notable aspect here is the teaching team, which has real experience in the subject they teach. This gives students a closer and more realistic vision of the sector they want to join after graduating.
Finally, the blended modality combines the best of online and in-person. That is, enjoy the flexibility of studying remotely, with 6 hours of in-person classes.
At ILERNA, training is not limited to the acquisition of theoretical knowledge. The institution has established itself as a benchmark in the field of Vocational Training thanks to a practical and innovative methodology, focused on experiential learning. To this end, ILERNA study plans are constantly updated to be aligned with the latest trends and demands of the labor market, thus ensuring that students are prepared to face the latest challenges.
“Our students, regardless of the modality they choose, receive training that prepares them for the real world and to enter the labor market 100% prepared. Furthermore, we ensure that they feel accompanied throughout their training stay. To do this, we guide them at all times and try to resolve all their doubts,” says ILERNA CEO, Jordi Giné.
In short, as has been proven, FP is the most viable way to support what seems so diffuse today, which is the future.
