Netflix prices continue to rise around the world. After publishing its annual balance and analysis of the year, the streaming platform has announced that it will increase its rates in the United States, the United Kingdom and France, a trend that will surely spread and could reach Spain.

Specifically, Netflix has announced price increases in its Basic and Premium plans. The Basic plan, which Netflix eliminated at the beginning of the year, goes from $10 to $12, while the Premium goes from $20 to $23, although the standard and advertising-supported packages will maintain their prices of $7 and $15.49, respectively.

The company last raised prices in early 2022 and has now repeated the move: “Our overall approach remains the same: a wide range of prices and plans to meet a wide range of needs, and as we offer more value to our members, we occasionally ask them to pay a little more,” Netflix highlights in its report.

“Our initial price is extremely competitive with other streamers and at $6.99 per month in the US, for example, it is much less than the average price of a movie ticket,” they defend from the company, which has recently been criticized. for taking restrictive measures with their accounts.

However, the company’s move to limit password sharing appears to have worked, as the number of subscribers now stands at 247.15 million, an annual increase of 10%.

In November, the new rates are scheduled to begin to be applied, starting with the North American market, but in Spain many are wondering if this general increase in prices for the streaming service will end up arriving.
