The last few months have been quite turbulent for actor Rodolfo Sancho and his family. His eldest son, Daniel Sancho, the result of his relationship with Silvia Bronchalo, is imprisoned in Thailand after admitting to the murder and dismemberment of Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta. Since then, this case has had a great following in Spain.
The actor, in his desire to protect his son and allow the judicial process to progress without interference, has taken measures from the first moment to, as far as possible, prevent information about his son from being leaked.
For this purpose, he asked Daniel’s closest friends to avoid any communication with the press. This pact of silence seeks to keep Daniel’s life as safe as possible from the eyes of public opinion, an increasingly arduous task in a case that has attracted the attention of the media.
So far, Daniel Sancho’s inner circle has remained steadfast in its commitment, exemplifying a silent but unwavering loyalty to him, who is imprisoned on the Thai island of Koh Samui.
This group of friends, united by a tacit promise, has chosen to maintain notable discretion, avoiding the media maelstrom surrounding the case and thus fulfilling Rodolfo Sancho’s request.
To maintain a connection with the outside world, the young chef has drawn up a list of ten names authorized to visit him in prison. Although it is suspected that some of his close friends could be on this list, so far only Rodolfo Sancho, Silvia Bronchalo and Daniel’s lawyers have been seen visiting him.
For now, Thai authorities have closed their investigation and handed over their findings on the case to the Prosecutor, who is now reviewing the evidence. The police report indicates that Sancho, who was brought before the judge on October 5, intentionally killed the victim and then tried to hide the crime.
They have also collected multiple pieces of evidence, including security videos and invoices that show that Sancho bought knives and cleaning products to alter the crime scene. Raw photographs have also been discovered of the location where the victim’s remains were found.
Sancho’s defense, for its part, puts forward arguments about the difference between premeditation and improvisation, which could be a central point in the upcoming judicial process. The exact date of Daniel Sancho’s trial has not yet been set, but the information available indicates that a trial date is not expected until the end of this year or the beginning of 2024.
