Since its inception, the digital world has tried to provide us with the possibility that everything we do in the real world can also be done from an electronic device. Dating apps are a good example and now Tinder, one of the most popular, has gone a step further.

After verifying that we all like to talk to our friends and family about the people we like or with whom we would like to have a relationship and even ask them for advice. Until now, the only way to do something similar was to sit with someone next to you and browse the app together by viewing and commenting on profiles. From now on it is no longer necessary.

Tinder has added a new functionality so that whoever we want can snoop on the profile of our potential hookups and give us their seal of approval, even if they are on the other side of the world.

This feature is called Tinder Matchmaker (which can be translated as matchmaker or matchmaker) and is now available in Spain, France, Germany, United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea , Thailand and Vietnam, but the intention of those responsible for the application is to launch it worldwide in the coming months.

“For years, singles have asked their friends to help them find their next match on Tinder, and now we’re making it super easy with Tinder Matchmaker,” says Melissa Hobley, Marketing Director of the dating app, in a statement. release. “Tinder Matchmaker gets your trusted people to help you see possibilities that you might be overlooking from the perspective of those who know you best,” she adds.

The advantage is that it is not necessary for our grandmother, our aunt, our close friends or even our parents to have a profile on Tinder. It all starts when the user shares a link to the profile of a potential match with a maximum of up to 15 people and for 24 hours.

These, after the application verifies their age and accept the app’s privacy terms, can sniff that profile and others to recommend it to the family member or friend who has asked for help.

The only thing these secret guests cannot do is start a chat or send messages to any profile on behalf of their sponsor.

Once the session expires – after those 24 hours of time – Tinder users will have the opportunity to review the profiles that their matches have liked for them. Profiles that receive a like from a matchmaker will be marked as a “recommendation” within the app, while those that have not been liked will not change. In Hobley’s words, “everyone wants their friends to like the person they’re with, and Tinder Matchmaker is a fun way to do that.”

Probably more than a fun way, it is a more comfortable way, but once again the digital world allows us to do something that we already did without it, but – as usual – reducing social interaction. Many users of the application surely had much more fun browsing their crush’s profiles, together with a group of friends, commenting on the game and having a laugh.
