Loquillo and Susana Koska have said “I do” after 40 years of relationship. The couple themselves confirmed the news through the Instagram account of the legendary artist – real name José María Sanz -, who with a photograph from the day of their wedding in the town of Laguardia in Alava, where they both reside, confirmed that they had become husband and wife after more than four decades together.

“Yes!! After 40 years together, Susana and I have gotten married. Long live the couple!”, wrote the musician on the social network.

A beautiful snapshot – in which you can also see that they had their son Cayo Bruno, 24 years old, as an exceptional witness – that confirmed the union that led to a chance meeting in the Guipuzcoan town of Lasarte-Orio during a concert by the artist. . There he met the writer Susana Koska, who would change her life forever and from whom she would never be separated again.

The 58-year-old woman from San Sebastián has been with the musician throughout this time. Documentary filmmaker (Women on the War Foot, Vindication) and writer, she has always tried to give visibility to women in all her eras.

In 2011, Koska lived a very difficult time, as she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The writer recounted her experience without embellishment in a book, Tópico de Cancer (Ediciones B, 2014). In a recent interview, Loquillo reflected on the importance of “choosing well with whom to take that journey of life.”

“For me, Susana is a role model, seeing the fight she has had for more than 12 years against cancer, the strength to stay alive, being an excellent writer and not throwing in the towel, that helps me a lot,” she said. “When you live with death, speaking clearly, and there is a vital struggle to live, that is an overwhelming life experience.”

For his part, Loquilló revealed in 2021 that he was diagnosed with a multinodular goiter in the thyroid. For this reason, he assures that he does not look to the most distant future, for what he may happen to. “At the moment I’m fine with the neck thing, but I haven’t made advance plans for a few years. I enjoy life, I try to make others happy and above all I love music because it’s what makes me live and be alive,” he insists.

The person who knows them best is Cayo, the son they have in common, who wanted to be by his parents’ side at this very special moment. The three posed with similar outfits and with a very personal touch, in black; and Cayo appeared as a faithful heir to the rock style of his famous father, from whom he carries out artistic communication.

“Weekend of a lot of love with wonderful people,” he wrote on his social media account, where he shared some images of the celebration, which he attended accompanied by his partner, a young 20-year-old artist.

An intimate party, but which of course did not miss Loquillo fans from recent years such as the singer Jorge Nieto, Sabino Méndez or Luis Alberto de Cuenca, authors of some of its best-known songs.
