This Thursday, the space presented by Sonsoles Ónega, And Now Sonsoles, revealed to all its viewers a new ‘love scam’. The Antena 3 program has been addressing these types of cases for some time. A few months ago the news broke that a fake Brad Pitt had defrauded a neighbor from Granada of large amounts of money under the pretext that in the future he was willing to marry her.
But these crimes are becoming more frequent in our country and a few weeks ago the space addressed a new story again, but this time with the actor Jason Momoa. On this occasion, the victim continued to believe in the criminal and she refused to listen to her loved ones, to the point of having left her husband.
This afternoon, the Atresmedia space was able to speak live with the victim, fictitious name María, of a new love scam carried out by a fake Dani Martín. The presenter claimed that at first the woman did not want to give her testimony, but in the end she had agreed to tell her story, since there were many women who were victims of this type of crime.
The victim said that her first contact with the fake singer occurred through social networks. The first thing the criminal asked her was if she was a follower of the singer, a statement she would use to begin his scam plan. ”You get excited because he is a famous person you follow,” she declared. ”I never doubted that it was him,” she asserted.
”We started chatting and I fell like a woman with a good soul,” she said. The victim claimed that they spoke every day and at no time did she want to tell anyone close to her that she was supposedly talking to Dani Martín. ”You don’t believe it and in the end you think, why not?” She confessed.
Regarding the first time she demanded money from her, María stated that the criminal asked her for money a few days after she started talking. ”She needed the money to bring or collect an inheritance from abroad. First he asked me for small amounts and then little by little for larger ones,’ she said. And the thing is that he began to ask the fake Dani Martín for amounts that were around a thousand euros, sent through transfers. ”I gave him 80,000 euros, it was my savings,” she asserted. The victim detailed that to recover the money she had given him she had to sell one of her properties.
After a whole year of making promises of love, the woman became suspicious when the criminal did nothing but ask her for money. ”She threatened me once. “He told me that I had to pay and if he didn’t pay something could happen to me,” she said. At that moment, María decides to go to the Civil Guard barracks to file a complaint. In addition, she also revealed that other criminals had contacted her posing as famous singers.
