On November 2, Renfe will put tickets on sale for the high-speed services that will link Asturias with Madrid, Castilla y León and the Valencian Community starting on November 30 using the new Pajares variant. To celebrate the inauguration, the company will launch a promotional campaign for commissioning, putting 25,000 seats on sale with prices starting at 18 euros.

As reported by the company this Wednesday, the Pajares variant in this first phase will provide new schedules that will reduce at least one hour in travel times between the Asturias connections with Madrid and the Valencian Community.

However, the Renfe schedule will only have 4 daily frequencies between Asturias and Madrid, spread throughout the day with waiting times between one train and another of about 3 hours and only with units that provide the Alvia service. The lack of fleet suffered by the company prevents it from improving the offer for the moment, despite the fact that they promise to improve the service for the second phase of the project.

The promotional campaign will last for 10 days, from November 2 to 11. Promotional tickets can be purchased for travel between November 30, 2023 and February 15, 2024.

In the future second phase of the project, the incorporation of new trains will mean improvements in the offer, combining Alvia services with the launch of the services offered by AVE and Avlo, generating in turn a greater number of frequencies and seats and a improvement of travel times. In addition, the incorporation of Avilés as a new destination is planned with the launch of a new Alvia service for this population.
