The Municipal Police of Madrid have arrested a 27-year-old man with a history of sexist violence for allegedly attacking his partner, their common child who was just a few months old, his tenant and an agent in the district of Villaverde.

The events occurred around 10:00 a.m. last Friday, when the arrested man entered the home and attacked the two women and the baby, as reported by the Municipal Police.

It was the 41-year-old tenant who alerted the police and told the officers that the man allegedly hit his partner while she was holding her baby in her arms, who fell to the ground as a result of the impact.

She tried to intervene but was also beaten, at which point the man forced his partner and their youngest son to flee the home with him.

The tenant provided the agents with a description of the alleged aggressor and the victim’s phone number, whom they called twice.

The first time he hung up immediately but on the second attempt he answered and provided the location where they were, even though he spoke in a very low voice so that the man could not hear him, according to what police sources have told Efe.

There, at a point on Madrid’s Andalucía Avenue, not far from the home, the police moved and located the aggressor, the woman and the baby.

“Let’s see if you dare to do the same in front of the agents,” said the woman, addressing her partner, who at that moment was carrying her son in her arms.

The police officers urged him to leave the minor aside and provide them with his documentation, at which point he tried to punch the officer who approached him several times in the face, with whom he struggled until both fell to the ground.

Once subdued and arrested, they verified that the man appeared in the VioGén system for mistreatment previously reported, the same sources have stressed.

When questioned by the agents, the woman confirmed that that morning the man had slapped her several times in the face – which was red – and that it was not the first time it had happened.

Both she and her son were treated by Samur-Civil Protection paramedics while he was arrested as an alleged perpetrator of crimes of gender violence and attack against a law enforcement agent.
