The parliamentary groups in Congress have advanced before the deadline expires at 6:00 p.m. today a good part of their respective lists of those appearing in the commission of investigation into the masks with which the left-wing bloc proposes to counteract the sessions that, by virtue of their majority, PP and Vox will control in the Senate.

The socialist parliamentary group has proposed, among others, the president of Congress, Francina Armengol, the former Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, and the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso. The list of appearances of the PSOE differs from that which they had registered for the investigation commission of the Koldo case in the Senate, since in the Upper House they had ignored the names of senior political leaders and focused only on technical names, of senior officials of the public administrations.

The socialist work plan does not contemplate, at least for now, that the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, be summoned, despite the fact that ERC does have him on its list of appearances.

Pending possible news, Sumar has also confirmed that the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and her partner, Alberto González Amador, will request an appearance. However, its leader and second vice president, Yolanda Díaz, has explained that they do not want to turn this body into a “spectacle” and that the list of summonses from the plurinational group will focus on intermediate positions, experts and informants who have investigated alleged corruption plots. .

The PP has done the same with the former vice president of the Government and president of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Nadia Calviño, and the former minister and spokesperson for the PSOE in the Madrid City Council, Reyes Maroto. Therefore, it excludes, at least in the first phase, both the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and his wife, Begoña Gómez, due to the alleged conflicts of interest that they would have incurred – according to the opposition – when granting subsidies to companies. who maintained labor relations with the second.

ERC, for its part, has once again proposed that the president of Congress, Francina Armengol, the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo and the former Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, be summoned. The list of Catalan Republicans also includes requests for the appearance of the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, the former Minister of Transport José Luis Ábalos and his former advisor – implicated in this alleged corruption case – Koldo García. To which are added the spokesperson of the PP in Congress, Miguel Tellado, the former Minister of Health Carolina Darias and the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Rodríguez Almeida.
