Customer reviews evaluating an establishment, as well as the responses of the establishment’s owners, are often viral content on social networks, in addition to the surreal comments that are often exchanged. But there are times when reviews become a story worth telling point by point.

A common formula in this peculiar literary genre is customers who complain about not being served after closing time, resulting in the response to the review highlighting the importance of respecting the staff’s working hours. And precisely in this sense begins the story of a user who apologized for ordering food at home too late, claiming that he was sick. His kindness was well received by the establishment, but the final review does not leave anyone indifferent.

The Instagram profile @soycamareroo (409 thousand followers) publishes content related to the hospitality sector and, very often, shares striking reviews, as in this case. It all started with a customer who ordered a hamburger at home with a note to the establishment that hinted at his kindness: “I’m sorry for ordering so late, I’m very sick and I just got up and haven’t eaten. I understand if you cancel the order because it is too late and you have to close, thank you.”

“That’s enough, you see an empathetic person who asks politely, apologizing in advance,” says Jesús Soriano, head of the @soycamareroo account. The story follows a positive thread when those in charge of the establishment decide to respond to the customer’s kindness, including a free portion of garlic bread in their order. In addition, the order was accompanied by a note: “Thank you for your message. Don’t worry about ordering late, we don’t mind. Here’s a free garlic bread to help you find something better. Get well!”, words also adorned by smiling faces and even a heart.

But what seemed like a nice story ends with an unexpected twist, the review that the client left to rate the service. The user rated the establishment with four stars and commented that “they gave me garlic bread because I was feeling sick and they left me an emotional note with the order, I would give each worker a kiss on the forehead.” So far so good.

Finally, the review ends in a way that has surprised Instagram users: “But on the other hand, the cheese on the burger was super hard and looked like burnt plastic. I appreciate the garlic bread, but at least they could learn to cook. Honestly I wish they had told me they were closed, I will never order again.”

In the comments of the publication, many users appeal to humor, but there are also several people who call the protagonist “ungrateful.”
