Last May, Manu Sánchez announced on his program The afternoon, here and now that he had to put his career on hold for a while after being diagnosed with testicular cancer. News that shocked the country and filled the networks with messages of support.

Now, a few months after the news came to light, Sánchez has spoken again about his illness in an interview with Aimar Bretos in a special edition of Hora 25, Cadena Ser, from Seville.

Reflections. An interview in which the presenter and comedian shared how he has lived these last few months after hearing the news, but also a reflection on how to face cancer that has not left anyone indifferent.

Death. “The hardest thing of all was accepting my own death. This is the great exercise, realizing that this can end at any moment,” Sánchez begins by explaining while adding that “We all take for granted that we are going to be eighty-something, ninety years old. “We are postponing everything.”

Live in the now. Sánchez assures that until now he had always made long-term plans and accepting his own death has allowed him to care about everything a little less, to stop postponing everything to be able to live it in the now, and continue fighting.

Keep fighting. “In life it is worth moving forward, to keep fighting, if you have to learn to walk again, to talk again, to be in places again and in a different way, then you learn,” he reflects in the interview.

Top comments. A series of reflections that have gone viral with more than 373,000 views and all kinds of comments about it: “I love how @_ManuSanchez_ speaks, he is an example for many”, “Listening to you heals the mind Manu. I am not very given to listening to interviews or following other people’s oncological processes. But I’m going to listen to the entire interview because these 4 minutes were not enough for me. A hug”, “How lucky to have you”, “Puff, the best thing I’ve heard in a long time, and at the same time very hard… Cheer up! Keep fighting! Quite an example”, “What a lesson. Thank you very much and good luck, Manu”, “Magnificent gift. Thanks to Manu Sánchez for his generosity. Sharing this reflection is mandatory, and the best treatment to combat stupidity” or “Manu Sánchez is very right, it is reality, we do not know if we will grow up, there are many relatively young people who are dying for one reason or another, live day to day, tomorrow we don’t know if we will be here”, were some of the most popular reactions.
